The G213, a CPCI Serial XMC/PMC carrier board

The G213 supports an XMC or a PMC plug-on module. The actual I/O functionality completely depends on the mezzanine module. Existing PMC modules as well as the newer and faster XMC mezzanines can be used flexibly.

On XMC modules two PCI Express® x4 links ensure fast data transfer. Combined – for example – with a Gigabit Ethernet XMC with 4 channels, the complete bandwidth is available for each channel without limitations.

By means of a PCI Express® to PCI-X bridge the huge pool of conventional PMC modules is also available. PMCs with 64 bits and 66 MHz or 133 MHz are supported. Image processing or measuring data acquisition and processing applications, which require fast data transfer with full bandwidth, can be served ideally using for example frame grabbers, data loggers etc.

The board is suited for an operating temperature of -40 to +85°C and has been developed for usage in harsh environments – i.e. without socketed components and prepared for coating.

CompactPCI® Serial uses new high-frequency connectors, six of which with a maximum of 184 pin pairs can be used on a single Eurocard. As the mostly-used signals like SATA/SAS, USB and PCIe® x1 can be accommodated on one connector, CompactPCI® Serial peripheral boards as a rule only need the P1 connector (six rows with four pin pairs each). The signal pins of the rugged connector are protected by a housing on all four sides.
